Larder Beetles
STOP LARDER BEETLE DAMAGE – GUARANTEED.
Larder beetles can damage your home and contaminate stored food products, especially cured meats and cheeses. Seeing a few adult Larder beetles does not necessarily mean you have an infestation, especially if they are found in the spring. However, if you continue to find large numbers of adult Larder beetles or their larvae, there is a strong possibility of a Larder beetle infestation. It’s time to call Adam’s.

Pest Overview
The Larder beetle (Dermestes lardarius) is a commercial pest as well as a household pest. Prior to mechanical refrigeration, food was stored in a cool area called a “larder.”
The use of refrigeration and the commercial curing of meats have decreased the economic importance of the Larder beetle. However, Larder beetles are still commonly found in homes, museums, mills, and any place that contains a suitable food source.
Larder Beetles Treatment Options
Stored Product Pest Prevention
Adam’s one-time service controls larder beetles, along with other common stored product pests. Your Adam’s Pest Management Professional will inspect your home or business to identify and eliminate the food source. Often, the food source is in closets or areas where woolen, silk fabrics, furs, or items with feathers are stored. Adam’s then exterminates larder beetles by applying an EPA-proven residual insecticide treatment to all cracks, crevices and voids in closets, baseboards, molding, and dark secluded places where the larder beetles may hide, crawl, or enter the structure. We also apply spot treatments under heavy furniture, and under the edges of carpeting, if and as the infestation necessitates. The treatment is warranted for one month.
