Rats
If you spot evidence of a rat infestation, act quickly. Rats are not only frightening, but can transmit parasites and diseases to other animals and humans; eat and contaminate stored food; and damage and destroy wires and building materials by gnawing.
Adam’s licensed, Pest Management Professional (PMP) exterminates rats with a combination of baits, glue boards, and/or rat traps depending on the extent of the infestation. Adam’s will also thoroughly inspect your home or business to identify possible entry points for rats and recommend how to keep rats from entering.
The most common rat in Minnesota is the Norway rat; also known as the sewer or brown rat. Although considered to be relatively intelligent, with many interesting abilities, rats pose a serious threat to human health and can cause considerable damage to property and your reputation.

- Check your firewood for remnants of rat nests
- Look for burrows near gardens, a compost pile, or beneath garbage cans
- Look for rat nests behind boxes or in drawers in the garage
- Look for smudge marks caused by the rats rubbing their fur against beams, rafters, pipes, and walls
- Look for large and rough teeth marks on hard surfaces and large holes in floorboards and walls.
